About Us
At the Popstars Academy we have an experienced and dedicated team who pride themselves on achieving excellence with a friendly and professional approach. They ensure at all times that our customers receive a service that surpasses their expectations.
Popstars Academy was launched in 2003 and specialises in Popstar Parties and Dance Classes. Every child who attends a Popstars Academy Dance Class and Popstar Party will have the chance to shine and feel special.
Our aim is to ensure each child is given a warm welcome, helped to build in confidence, improve fitness and reach their true potential in a fun, caring environment.
Jo Franks
Joint Managing Director
Jo worked at Marks and Spencer Head Office for 11 years. In that time she has worked personally for Sir Stuart Rose, Chairman and Sir Richard Greenbury, Chief Executive. From there she enjoyed a successful career in Selection Buying working across many departments in Ladies Fashion - always working in areas of enhanced product development.
Sandy Mullins
Joint Managing Director
Sandy graduated with BA Hons in Fine Art & Design and set up her own interiors design business, where she won The Prince's Trust 'Best Small Business for The South East'. She later joined the team at Designers Guild in London. Sandy followed her passion for dance and fitness throughout and qualified to teach alongside her career in design. She now has 16 years of teaching experience behind her.
Ruth Kestenbaum
Principal Choreographer
Ruth trained in Nottingham and London (BA Hons) and danced for a Sydney dance company, returning to London to work as a choreographer and backing dancer for artists such as Craig David, Faithless and Brian Adams and taking hip hop and street dance to schools, colleges and youth projects all over Greater London.
Liz Pickford
Head Of Human Resources
Liz worked for 15 years in the City of London as Head of Personnel for several foreign banks, and is a member of the Institute of Personnel & Development. She then moved into the education sector where she has held various posts ranging from Pre-School Assistant to Premises & Business Manager, and most recently Careers Adviser to secondary school pupils.
Paul Tough
Franchise Consultant
With over 12 years working in the world of franchising as both a Franchisor and now Consultant, Paul strongly believes that Popstars Academy is set to be a huge success.
Paul has been involved in setting up franchises for Threshers, Costa Coffee and The Comedy Store to name but a few, and his wealth of experience is invaluable to make The Popstars Academy equally successful nationwide.
